jodrell star trail stack

I went out in the frost and the ice to imitate Nocturne's amazing(ly shit) light painting of a railway bridge. Unfortunately my bridge of choice made getting onto the track very hard so I settled for this.

 

I took this picture with my tripod on top of the bridge whilst waiting for trains. This picture was made by stacking three 6 minute exposures together. So 18-20 minutes altogether - ISO200 f/8. The scene was lit by natural moon lighting.

 

In conclusion - I'd much rather wait for trains on a platform than stood on top of an icy ledge, metres away from the live wires.
