Shattering the Myths® in Texas

Hundreds of Texas Middle, High School and College Students learned the facts about drugs and alcohol at an interactive signature event for National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®. Students from across the Texas Bay area gathered at the Nessler Civic Center in Texas City, Texas for a special Youth Interactive Safety Lab.

Interactive safety topics covered at the event ranged from the effects of drug-impaired driving to the effects binge drinking. Exhibitors included Texas A&M Transportation Institute, The University of Texas Medical Branch, The Council on Recovery, Galveston Bay Foundation, The Addiction Policy Forum and others with special support from Galveston Restaurant Group.

National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Organizations for Youth Safety and The Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol specialists also attended.
