    Strobist Information:

The spring is made from an orange pipe cleaner wrapped around a magic marker and placed on a sheet of white paper. There is one SB-28 positioned above and fired through a translucent umbrella by a PW. There is a second SB-28 placed on the table to the right and fired bare directly at the 'spring' to cast the shadow.

I hope you view imitation as the sincerest form of flattery...I'm sure my results won't turn out half as well but you have inspired me...for a newbie like myself the information on set up is valuable...thanks...I am learning a lot just from reading :-)

I am a big believer in sharing techniques and Flickr is such a fantastic place to do that. It is also why I am a huge fan of David Hobby and his Strobist Blog.

Don't think of it as "imitation", just tell yourself it is "a creative reference providing a starting point for an acquired development process resulting in a unique image"! At least that's what I think when I am copying someone else! :)

I look forward to seeing your results!
