tree in lomond

Firkin Point is situated on the west banks of Loch Lomond, at the centre of Loch Lomond Road. With the road streching 3 miles north and 3 miles south you can choose to walk either of two directions or walk both to take in as much of the beautiful scenery as possible. It is level and surfaced under foot making it suitable for babies' buggies and wheelchair users.

If walking north you will pass Firkin Cottage which was once a toll house on the old drove road used to dive Highland cattle to lowland markets. Here, the loch reaches its deepest point of almost 200 metres deep.

If walking south from Firkin Point continue round the headland of Rubha Mor to achieve stunning views down the length of Loch Lomond.
