Sanna Bay

Newer Older

One of the most beautiful views in the world - I'd recommend looking at this one full size. Sanna Bay is at the far west end of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, the most westerly part of the British mainland. The mountains in the background (to the north) are on the island of Rum, with the small island of Muck in front and the island of Eigg to the right. The Isle of Skye is just visible in the far distance. The only time that I had previously been to Sanna was on a very wet, misty February day when I could only just see the beach through the rain - what a difference!

Very nicely done, Niall. I was there on a similar day almost exactly a year ago, so I know how good an impression of the place this photo is. (I really should get some of my shots from then posted some day. [sigh...] )

One of my fav pics ever. Thank you. We went here last week but while it was dry, it was a fairly dull day. Just means I need to go again soon :-)

Looks fantastic, I haven't managed a shot as good as this of this view but in 2009, just wait and see. I absolutely agree that this is one of the most beautiful places.

Wonderful shot. Been there two or three times and is usually overcast. Makes me want to revisit again soon.
