Schoenberg's Gurre-Lieder
I was honored to play with the Israel Philharmonic for a series of concerts featuring Schoenberg's Gurre-Lieder. The brass section for this massive piece requires 4 trumpets, 11 french horns with 4 doubling on wagner tuba, 8 trombones including contrabass and bass trumpet.
This windy group together with the entire orchestra and chorus = 431 musicians on stage.
Immenseness!
