Chief of Security Phil DeGorter greets customers at the grand re-opening of National Wholesale Liquidators
National Wholesale Liquidators reopened here in West Hempstead. I love this store because I appreciate picking up a $2.99 extension chord while getting milk. And 2-for-one car jacks, bungie chords and spray starch. This morning's plan was to "get there before everyone shows up". I had no idea I'd be one among thousands of NWL fans. A representative census sample of Nassau County showed up.
I struck up a conversation with Director of Security Phil DeGorter, who told me that Long Islanders had not let up the pressure to have NLW reinstated since the original company liquidated in bankruptcy in 2008.
Phil had a busy day to say the least. Until this morning I had never seen this parking lot filled to capacity and honestly, I was excited to be on line with everybody waiting to enjoy sixty-levels of bargains.
