iMovie '09 Image Stabilization test

Newer Older

As Gruber points out, it works best with still or predictably panning shots. Walking is far too distorted a movement for IS to do any real magic on.

(IS kicks in halfway through... I forgot to add some sort of marker for when it happens)

That's still pretty impressive. Not bad for a first stab at IS in a consumer level software product (that I'm aware of).

Wes Montgomery and Milt Jackson. The song is "Stablemates".

    Stable, like stabilization.

    Shut up.

Wow, that works really well! I'm impressed.

I don't know if this means I'll give up my precious final cut pro, but it's good to see.

Has anyone tried the iMovie09 IS feature with freefall skydiving footage yet?

The result looks Steadicam-like. Has anyone run footage through IS twice, to see if it affects any lingering artifacts?

WOW... I just bought Mac Box Set which includes iMovie09. This will be a clean install on the new hard drive in my MacBook. Can't wait to use this while on the cruise next month.
