Predator Drone

    Newer Older

Drones are unmanned military aircraft. Their pilots are computer scientists operating them for thousands of miles away from their targets. They are the future of the US military unless peacemakers around the world can stop them.

We must follow the three laws of robotics written by Isaaac Asimov in 1942.

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

The US military is programming Drones to kill human beings. What could be more dangerous to our future than killing machines?

Don't be silly. This is saving US lives by making it to where we don't send people out and they get killed. With systems like these, we can just send a MQ-1 Reaper and fire a Hellfire.

We don't need killing machines flying around. We have to stop this insanity and reprogram robots not to kill EVER! Do you want to live in a Terminator world? I don't!

Uh... They're not programmed, they're operated by people with joysticks. It's people firing the missiles, people flying the drones, people controlling what they do. Basically, a normal plane with the pilot dislocated. Maybe it won't be later, but for now, I don't think these drones are going to turn all Cylon on us and rebel. And when they do make robot planes, I think they'll be smart enough to heed sci-fi and make sure they can't rebel.

      .....

They're not fully independent robots. They are controlled by humans, like you and me. Now, would you rather have a drone killing a guy trying to hide from a US squad and arm an RPG, or would you rather have the guy fire the RPG and kill the squad?

The problem is that humans are killing machines. Drones are just an extention of human killers. Will we ever evolve beyond being killers? YES. Women and their male allies are saying NO to WAR!
