Labrina Hopkins

My piece for Journey Home project. @stefanways & @oneeightyone & I did murals for this project which are currently on display at the convention center. They are on parachute cloth and will be installed around town in the not too distant future.

My subject Labrina Hopkins is a formally homeless single mother who's parents died at an early age. While at shelters with her daughter she pursued getting a degree, eventually moved into section 8 housing, and then saved up enough for a house in the same neighborhood. Once she moved into the new house, rather than sell the old on the market she decided to give it to the section 8 program to help get another family out of the same type of situation she was in.
