And once again the people saw me photographing their theatre, yet did not invite me inside. How depressing. :)

Eridony: I've been invited in numerous buildings, from theatres to masonic temples, sometimes people like to show off their buildings... but though I've pressed my nose up against the glass of this place I've never been offered a tour, hehe.

I guess I'm just not pretty enough to be invited inside building! :(

I do get a lot of dirty looks when I photograph buildings though!

I dunno! It's only ever happened in small towns, never a bigger place.

Haha! Small towns are where I get all the dirty looks! Most people in bigger places don't care what I'm pointing a camera at

Hi Nesh why did you tag with the Beatles? Just curious

    9. neshachan 76 months ago | reply

Because the marquee is advertising "A Modsummer's Night's Dream" featuring Beatles tunes.

cool! my sister and I were walking by Friday, snapping away and we literally got DRAGGED inside by a friend of the guy who runs the theatre! the owner is Mark Baker, a real live one-time Broadway star who is hands down the friendliest most welcoming stranger I've ever stumbled across anywhere! you would LOOOVE the interior of the building it's a small scale theatre - silent movie size, and happily it hasn't been altered much at all! high, high ceiling - sort of vaulted like a Nosferatu coffin! all wood and just the right amount of dust. if you're a theater queen you'd love their scene - totally DIY "let's put on a show!" energy. trust me - you HAVE to knock on the door and meet Mark, he's like a character from a 30's screwball comedy come to life. :-)

I swear I want to live there and "put on a show" with Mark and his cool friends.

Ohhh man, the last few times I've been in Cumberland, I have literally stood on the sidewalk outside of the theatre with puppy-dog eyes and my camera looking in through the window, and I've seen people inside but nobody's ever invited me in... I REALLY want to get in! Many times I've been invited into theatres and other buildings just by standing around and looking curious but it didn't get me anywhere in this case. It sounds like super-fun and I'd love to see the inside.
