06,04.28 Willemstad, Netherlands
28 April - At 10 am our riverboat docked in Willemstad, a tiny Dutch town enclosed within a seven-pointed star fortress. The descrition of this type fortification reminded me of Fort McHenry in Baltimore. The town was named for William the Silent of the 1500s. Silent William's great grandson became one half of the team of William and Mary of England.
We took off for our town tour and organ recital at the oldest Protestant church in Holland. The temperatures were 42 to 60 degrees F.
