06,04.25 Arnhem, Netherlands
In the early morning of April 25th, with temperatures of 40-63 degrees Fahrenheit, the ship arrived in Arnhem, Gelderland. During the night we had sailed through the Markemeer (formerly part of the Zuiderzee) and entered the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. Arnhem is located on the lower Rhine.

We visited the Airborne War Cemetery at Oosterbeek, built and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Arnhem was the site of the Battle of Arhem and Operation Market Garden. The September 1944 battle was Immortalized in the World War II book and film, "A Bridge Too Far." After returning to the ship, we began the cruise to Belgium.
