Sec. Balisacan meets with FAO representative
Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan met with the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) Philippine representative Jose Luis Fernadez last June 3, at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria.
Balisacan discussed about the importance of strengthening the Philippine agriculture sector to be able to contribute more ’s strengthening and its importance to the economic growth. He said that the government must ensure policies that support growth also are productivity-enhancing. Meanwhile, the FAO representative said they would support the agenda and further coordinate with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
