Sec. Balisacan talks about Q1 2014 NIA

In a press conference held in Makati last May 29, Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan reported that the country's economy grew by 5.7% in the first quarter of 2014 even with the lingering effects of the disasters that hit the country during the last quarter of 2013.

 

The Philippines is the third fastest economy in Asia in this period, next only to China with 7.4 percent and Malaysia with 6.2 percent.

 

Joining Secretary Balisacan last Thursday were National Statistician Lisa Grace S. Bersales, Interim Deputy National Statistician Romeo S. Recide, and NEDA Deputy Director-General Emmanuel F. Esguerra.
