081119 - August Thunder (Part 1)
August 11, 2019 - Colorado / Nebraska US
I've been absent from the photography seen for about a month...
My truck was in the shop and with no wheels to chase anything that came my way I had to pass. Believe me when I say I was a little frustrated I was. Plus the storm pattern was not in my favor over the month of July. Nebraska did have storms. Mostly during the overnight hours and on the east and western parts of the state. South Central remained dry, hot and humid.. My chances to chase these storms were few and far between. So with that being said... it has been close to month without any good storms to chase...
Now...August is usually one of the NON active months of the year...for severe weather. We might get 1 or 2 good cells and over the past few years August has been one of the better months for my storm photography. Uncommon weather patterns has made 2019 has been very active for severe weather! Favorable weather has brought back the chance for severe weather, and you know I can't pass up a good chase opportunity! I was on the hunt once again!
Gear loaded and ready, our first jaunt was out to Colorado and western Nebraska. Over 3000 captures from this storm alone. I haven't had time due to my chasing these past few days to edit all the images down. This video only contains the day images! 100mph outflow winds followed us all the way back to Nebraska and I have another full set of night images to come with this set... All in good time!
So many video and photographic gems in this set! Enjoy!
