Now to something different! This is my first image from a very special workshop in Paris that I've just got home from, co-hosting with Trey Ratcliff, involving a whole day of shooting at the Chateau de Champlatreux. In addition to its main stately rooms we discovered a maze of musty, eclectic rooms upstairs full of books, paintings, upturned chairs and antelope taxidermy, with dreamy light filtering through cobwebbed windows over thick heavy falling wallpaper. Truly a photographer's dream!
Roaming all over the house and grounds, we took half of the group each for a 3 hour session and then swapped over. He did HDR landscapes, I shot with models. See Trey's image from this very same room here. I love having a situation to interpret the same location/subject with another photographer.
And it was one of the most enjoyable workshops (of the teaching kind) I've ever done. The whole thing was filmed and will be available in the near future.
More to come, including a crazy one that I edited in class... you will see how I incorporated my visit to the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle!
