Frock and fowl
I'm surprised at how many birds ended up in this picture. I started with one peacock, and then found myself transplanting hens, pigeons and the lot from at least four different classical paintings.
The main paintings I have 'reincarnated' are Albertus Verhoesen's 'Chickens and Peacock in Classical Landscape' (1870), and 'Peacock, Peahen and Poultry in a Landscape' by Tobias Stranover (circa 1700).

It's been 2 months since that shoot, yet I have only just found the time to properly play with my images. Master Shipwright's is a beautiful house, and compared to the last houses we've used, it is airier and less cluttered with props, and I wanted to make use of that space, the textures of windows, walls and floor...
