Cullasaja River - Nantahala National Forest
Just back from a whirlwind tour of fall colors in the NC mountains. 14 hours of driving in 2 days, and I'm exhausted just in time to start the work week! To my FLICKR contacts, I will get to your photostreams... just not tonight!
Here's a quick recap of my expedition. I made it out to the Grandfather Mountain area just in time for sunset on Saturday but mostly came away empty handed. On Sunday, I only had time for an abbreviated schedule of shooting, but it was quite a bit more successful. I shot along US 64, between Franklin and Highlands, a beautiful area. The best images will come from Dry Falls, which I will post at some point in the next several days. There, I had the great pleasure to meet FLICKR contact, Mark Van Dyke, who is a heckuva nice guy and an excellent photographer as well.
As for this shot, it comes from just below Quarry Falls in southwestern North Carolina. It was taken with a circular polarizer and a graduated ND filter. F22. 10 sec exposure.
