Laser Profilometer

    NCPTT uses the laser profilometer to map the surface of stone samples at microscopic level and uses the resulting data to measure the effects of weathering and the impact of products used to protect stone commonly used in cemetery monuments and architectural structures.

    The more scientific explanation is:

    Solarius Laser Profilometer – characterizes the surface morphology of a sample by using a laser reflected onto a surface of the sample. The principle is similar to the commercially-available laser tape measure, only on a microscopic scale and scanned across the whole face of a sample.
