From Engineer to Master Gardener: NAVFAC Pacific Employee Serves Community Selflessly

(HONOLULU, Hawaii) Apr. 20, 2013 – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific General Engineer Ann Tanaka (third from left) volunteered at the “Got a Plant Question” booth with the Oahu Urban Garden Ohana and University of Hawaii Master Gardener (UH MG) program during the 6th annual Grow Hawaiian Festival held on the grounds of the Bishop Museum. Hundreds of families joined the celebration focusing on Hawaii’s native plants and culture. Guests were treated to entertainment, educational displays and booths that illuminated the importance of protecting the island environment and contributing to a clean energy future for Hawaii.
