Pine Point Coop

    Newer Older

Here is my photo for the Leap Day 2012 project on G+. I managed to tear away from my desk at lunch to try and find something. It was actually quite lovely down at Pine Point. The water was calm, and the seagulls were making some noise...a few folks out clamming (I think that's what they were doing) also. Now for March...coming in like a lion!

Corey Templeton, Jet WA, and 1 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Looking at this in the thumbnail view, it looks like I need to straighten a bit...let me know what you think. It's kind of weird with the angle of the dock sloping down.

First of all this is a very nice image, especially the lighting and the contrast of the warm and cool tones. I feel the horizon could use a tiny lift up on the left where the water meets the distant shore. No big deal. To my eye, the image could be improved by cropping the left side about 1/5th of the way in so that the vertical frame of the lower basket is cropped out. As the image is now, the baskets place strong vertical line in the center that divides it into two separate halves. What is the picture about? The baskets or the boat? Alternatively cropping in from the right to the edge of the cleat creates a picture about the baskets. Personally, I'd go with a crop from the left. The baskets lead into the boat in a way that makes you think the baskets and the boat are related.
