Mules carrying ammunition to the New Zealand guns on the Western Front, World War I

Pairs of mules carrying ammunition for New Zealand artillery on the Ypres Salient during World War I. The shells are contained in divided bags. Each pack mule carries four shells on each side. Shows the wet conditions in the area. The mule track is muddy and there are pools of water on either side. Photograph taken Kansas Farm 12 October 1917 by Henry Armytage Sanders.
