Discovery space: Wrapped!
9 to 20 Jul 2012

Inspired by the First Australians gallery and the Tjanpi ‘Wild Harvest Family’ woven grass sculptures, children and their families sat down in community circles and participated in a fun activity, wrapping textiles and fibres around sticks and natural forms. Vibrant stick art sculptures were created that reflected the makers’ individual personalities.

Families are encouraged to wrap and decorate a large stick to represent their family and leave it in our Family Forest installation.

These photos show the children who participated in the July 2012 school holiday program in Canberra.
