The Clifton Suspension Bridge is an amazing tribute to anyone who calls themself an engineer. From a distance, it looks spectacular, spanning the Avon Gorge. But when you are on it, the views are jaw dropping.
When I walked across it I was shocked at just how high it is from the river below - about 74 meters if I remember correctly. It feels much higher.
If you stand at the end of the central span, you can actually see the bridge swaying in the wind against the two end piers. Great.
