Primary Mirror Segment Assembly Alignment Installation Fixture
Pictured is hardware for the James Webb Space Telescope. In the foreground is the Primary Mirror Segment Assembly (PMSA) Alignment Installation Fixture (PAIF). The PAIF is holding a mass simulator of a primary mirror segment above the black, latticed Backplane Structure Test Article (BSTA).
The PAIF will eventually be used to install the flight mirror segments on the flight backplane structure.
