Family Science Night
On Wednesday July 25th, 13 families came to the NASA Goddard Space Flight Visitor's Center in Greenbelt, Md., for a special Family Science Night about the James Webb Space Telescope, light, and optics. Each family had the opportunity to work with a scientist or engineer as they learned about light and optics. Pictured here, a family is learning about focal length. A student moved the lens back and forth until an image formed on the screen, while the other measured the lens-screen distance. All materials for the Webb Family Science Night were provided by SPIE, the International Society for Photonics and Optics.
