Archive: Hurricane Gladys (NASA, Apollo 7, 10/17/68)
Editor's Note: Seeing all of these current hurricane images has made me start dusting off some of the historical images. I always forget that spacecraft like Apollo and Skylab did earth observation photography, too.
Hurricane Gladys, Gulf of Mexico, as seen from the Apollo 7 spacecraft during its 91st revolution of the earth. Photographed from an altitude of 99 nautical miles, at ground elapsed time of 144 hours and 27 minutes.
