Cuba and the Bahamas (NASA, International Space Station, 12/23/13)
Editor's note: good morning, Flickr friends! Found this jewel from back in the archives in December. A nice tropical break from all the cold winter weather. That aqua color is almost the same shade as my sweater today...but hey, it's a sweater. It's just not the same!
The Caribbean country of Cuba appears at the top of this high oblique image, photographed by one of the Expedition 38 crew members aboard the International Space Station. Andros Island, part of the Bahamas, is in the bottom of the frame. Cuba is an archipelago of islands in the northern Caribbean Sea at the confluence with the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. A Russian Soyuz spacecraft is docked to the station.
