The bluish spots on the Earth are bolts and storms, I feel. The reddish glow over the Earth... The upper atmosphere? And, the most intriguing question Is it the North Star? How do I explain the astronomy in the trails? I have to think...

Educa Ciencia The middle of the star trails is NOT the north star in this case. The ISS orbit has a axis of rotation 51.6 degrees different from the Earth's, so the centre of this picture is 51.6 degrees away from earth's axis. The orbit description is here , if you want to figure out exactly where this is.
