'Honeycombs' and Hexacopters Help Tell Story of Mars
Interns of the 2011 Lunar and Planetary Sciences Academy (LPSA) at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., traveled to the Channeled Scablands of eastern Washington state to study six-sided stone columns made from ancient basalt. These columns bear a striking resemblance to some that were recently spotted in images of Mars.
