Maryland Day 2016
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center employees volunteered at Maryland Day on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Maryland Day is an annual, one-day open house held at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. The event features free, entertaining events geared toward learning and exploration.
At the NASA exhibits, Maryland Day attendees could explore interactive displays related to Earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, engineering and technology, and exploration and space communications.
Guests at the Exploration and Space Communications booth, above, learned the basics of how NASA communicates with its missions. Guests could build their own string can telephone to learn about the senders, receivers and mediums of space communications.
