International Project Management Course #8
The eighth International Project Management (IPM) course hosted by the NASA Academy of Program/Project & Engineering Leadership (APPEL) took place at Kennedy Space Center from July 16-20, 2012. Participants from NASA, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Thales Alenia Space, Astrium, European Space Agency (ESA), German Aerospace Center (DLR), and the Argentine space company INVAP gathered for the five-day course.

International Project Management provides project practitioners with an understanding of cultural challenges, legal concerns, and teaming issues that are likely to be encountered when working with international partners. Two distinct facets of successful international project management are addressed: technical knowledge and cultural understanding. Participants gain insights into the characteristics of international teaming that have the potential to make or break a project through the use of lectures, small group discussion, hands-on practical exercises, and case studies.
