"One Person's Mentoring Experience" by Natalie Henrich

"'Calling all mentees and mentors for ACES class of 2012-2013.' That was the headline that grabbed my attention and ultimately led to my participation in a formal mentoring program. ACES is an acronym for Advancing Careers and Employee Success. The agency-supported program is designed to help employees achieve their potential, to help NASA meet the challenges of a changing workforce, and to contribute to making NASA a strong learning organization. The headline attracted my attention because I had been looking for a way to gain a greater understanding of NASA as a whole and reach beyond the circle of my day-to-day working network. When I think about where I want to be in five or ten years, I am not sure I still want to be in my current role." (Find out more about Natalie's mentoring experience.)
