Iron Maiden

Once a prison ship, the Iron Maiden is now the sanctuary for a new breed of inmates thanks to the infectious outbreak from a failed experiment on prisoner 315.

This 200-stud long SHIP is crashing in at BrickCon 2010 along with Tyler's Vexillum, where we'll be staging a battle between the space marines and the mutants. More pictures coming after the convention.

Very nice for a ship. Exceptional texture. Also, was this series inspired by Pandorum? It shares ALOT of characteristics with the movie.

Nannan you darling, that'll make a great home for my big Walter ( though I think it needs more colour, lols )

But seriously, this is Brilliant !

I'm kinda agreeing with Keith Goldman. It just seems to be missing something. Tyler's has lots of fun details, but this just appears to be some plates covering up a technic skeleton. Obviously building SHIPs are hard, and any builder who even attempts it is extremely brave IMO. Some bits are really awesome though, the infected bits, those wings incorporated in the middle, the overall shape and the Flying Wing part are all excellent. I'd probably fall in love with this massive beast at BrickCon, but ATM I'm not really feeling it.

Those chairs on the nose are an interesting idea. At first they stuck out oddly, but now they're beginning to grow on me. Awesome overall as well of course.

    Up the irons!

Just the shape of the ship reminds me very much of Dead Space. Really incredible build man.
  • Hawk Weisman 5y

Brings to mind the wreck from Containment. Was that intentional?
  • magnus_lauglo 5y

I think the main issue I have with this is that it looks unfinished - as if there should be a big rear section or something. I like the idea of a half destryoed space hulk floating around, perhaps adding more holes would add something.

This is just great. I love the many details and the broken state of the ship.
  • Nannan Zhang 5y

Keith Goldman Luke Lyons magnus_lauglo Yea, it's definitely not finished, and I'm planning on reassembling it and making some additions. When I take more photos, it'll show the finished ship hopefully.

Hawk Weisman It's certainly similar to the crashed ship in containment, but that wasn't the intention.
  • ZAND3R 5y

Not finished?! Damn, then I can't wait to see it done.
  • Joseph K 5y

Okay, I see you love building massive stuff once a year now, and although it looks very impressive in size and texture, in this stage it seems to me as if the ship was wrecked after a colossal event of some sort. I hope you finish it at one point just to see where you go with it. Great work nonetheless. :-)
