ChiefDelphi Users per Capita: United States

I decided a little while ago that since there was a significant effort underway to create maps of FIRST teams around the world ( www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=57354 ), there should also be maps of CD users. So I've been working on a little project in my spare time to create tallies of CD users in countries around the world, as well as in US states and Canadian provinces.
I used some custom macros and visual basic code in MS Excel to download username and location info from every user on CD, by starting with www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=0 (link returns an error) and increasing the final number by one to move to the next user. The last user I included in the maps was VexNerdVex ( www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=20500 ), who joined CD today. It took about 4 hours to get through those 20500 pages. Brandon, if you're wondering why you just got 20500+ hits from the same machine over the course of the last day and a half, now you know!
Caution: All locations have been self-reported by ChiefDelphi users and therefore may contain some error beyond my control. For example, some users on CD apparently come from "cheap viagra pills" or "The Deep Corners of Planet Zantarh." Needless to say, I could not use those results, and I recorded them instead as generic users, or in a more romantic sense, "citizens of the world." Because it would be impossible to guess where those users really are located, I spread them out over the entire globe. That's why, in the key below, the WHITE category starts at 0.057 users per million people. I used the same technique to create a generic category for users who entered "canada" or "usa."
After getting all that user info, I had to massage the data semi-manually (using a few of my favorite Excel tricks!) until I had a tally-able and catalog-able product. I used a logarithmic function to break the categories into color groups suitable for coloring the map. I listed the key here:
ChiefDelphi Users per Million People
White: 0.057 - 0.08208
Dark Blue: 0.08209 - 0.2231
Blue: 0.2232 - 0.6065
Light Blue: 0.6066 - 1.648
Aqua: 1.649 - 4.481
Green: 4.482 - 12.18
Yellow: 12.19 - 33.11
Light Orange: 33.12 - 90.01
Dark Orange: 90.02 - 244.6
Red: 244.7 - 665.1
