The smiling chief of the village - Chilbo sea - North Korea

    Newer Older

I had the chance to stay in a local village for 2 days, so i had the opportunity to take some portraits of people. This is not the easiest thing in North Korea, as everybody is running when they see a lens, specially in the countryside... But thanks to Polaroid Zinc, i became the god of the village for 2 days!
This man is the chief of the village. Let's say that he the elite of the countryside: they have 4 rooms in their house, and 4 Televisions! But at 5 in the morning, i saw the daughter going out in the cold to put some fire in the heating system of the house..
Thye were really welcoming, and i had the chance to eat a "sea duck". I still do not knwo what is a"sea duck", but i can say that the flesh is verryyy strong to eat!

Happyness...Great portrait Eric! It's not easy to catch the soul of each person in the right moment.
