Conciergerie - Paris, France

The Conciergerie was begun in the Middle Ages as the Royal Palace. However, it is most famous (or infamous) as a prison. During the French Revolution, many prisoners were executed by guillotine at the Conciergerie, the most famous being Marie Antoinette.
