Charles W. Morgan Restoration

Charlestown Naval Shipyard, Boston, MA. That Staff at Mystic Seaport Museum were contacted about the discovery of shipbuilding wood unearthed during excavation at a construction site, adjacent to the famed warship, USS Constitution. Employees from Mystic Seaport traveled from the Mystic River in Connecticut north to the Mystic River in Boston to view the wood and pick out pieces that will be used in the Morgan’s restoration. Several curved futtocks lie on the ground for inspection. The cell phone on one piece gives a sense of scale to the wood.
