I was interested to see how much this location had changed since Crabs and People by Chris Killip was taken at this spot in 1981.

Skinningrove, Chris Killip, 'Crabs and People' photo.
Have been trying to find a reasonably priced copy of the book 'In Flagrante', which the photo is part of, for some time.
A first edition is now around £400+ quid.

Well done, Carl. There's a cheaper option.

I looked at that book, I didn't like the layout that much - it is a copy of each page of the book layed out within this book.

The impressive thing is that the photos were mostly taken with a 4x5 camera. Always impressed with people who use that format, yet can make them look spontaneous.

I've had the Errata Editions book on pre-order for 6 months now through Amazon UK but they appear to be unable to supply any copies.

Amazon finally came good, well worth the investment considering the original is never going to be reprinted.

Saw the picture and from the icon I wondered if it was the Chris Kilip location, nice to see I was right! Damn that book was good, I must hook it out tonight...

I don't wish to be too smug, but I bought a stack of photography books from Saltburn auction rooms this week for 25 quid. It included a first edition of In Flagrante and one of the Don McCullin hardback Under Open Skies. I was extremely surprised to win the lot. This is a nice exposure by the way mystery me.
