I went to a really interesting photo exhibition this evening at the St Pancras Hospital. Andrew Stanney is a photo artist working as a mental health support worker. 'In Passing', his exhibition of photography captures a period of his life and career as a fine art photographer. The beautiful prints on a variety of surfaces capture the 'lost insignificant and unseen'. Many feature advertising posters from unused london underground tunnels dating back decades. The images are tactile to the degree that one is tempted to touch the surface to see if the scratched and crumpled poster is the real thing. Great stuff.
The photos can be seen at The Conference Centre, St Pancras Hospital, NW1 0PE. Mon - Frid 14/9/12 - 31/10/12. 9.00am - 6pm
