Female Panther North of Caloosahatchee River
The only known breeding population of Florida panthers is found south of the Caloosahatchee River. However, biologists have now collected strong evidence that suggests a female panther has finally crossed the river. This could mark a big step for Florida panthers as it is the first evidence of a wild female panther north of the Caloosahatchee since 1973!
