Note: An estimated 25% of all marine life are dependent on coral reefs at one point in their life cycle, but the future for coral itself is tenuous. Here, Ananda monitors one of the few remaining stands of the endangered elkhorn coral, Acropora palmata, at Looe Key. Looe Key is known as “The Crown Jewel of the Florida Keys.”
