Hveravellir steam vent

This was our last stop before reaching our accommodations around 11pm on day 6. It was a long day full of horses and washboard roads that rattled some fillings loose.

Hveravellir is a popular stop in the highlands because of the geothermal hotsprings there, not to mention some beautiful geothermal pools and steam vents. This vent was really intriguing because of its yellow hue caused by the silica in the water. The sun had set (9:45) and the sky was lovely. Great day all around.
