Mother's Day 2016. Setup Demo. Late evening around 7pm for the right light we wanted. Used an old rake to mark the subject's location. Cheetah Boom Stand above subjects, angled down, with a Rovelight 600B and 47" Neewer Brolly Box (very light weight for the size and output). Trigger is a basic Yongnuo RF603c via PC sync cable. Light set to 1/4th output in normal manual mode. Sekonic light meter used to meter the output to the location from the light to be F8 (to correspond with F2.8 aperture with a 3 stop ND making it effectively F8 needed for correct exposure from the light). Setup the camera on a tripod. Camera is 5D classic (1/200s, F2.8, ISO 100) with a 3 stop Marumi ND filter on an EF 200 F2.8L prime (old one) and rubber hood. Metered ambient light to be about correct at those settings with the ND filter in place, so as the light drops from the sun, ambient will darken. Yongnuo RF603c on the camera to talk to the light. Wireless shutter release is a generic one, with camera set to one shot focus drive, center point, so that it can grab focus and trip the exposure & lights with a single press. This allowed me to do selfies with the girls for Mother's Day. Took about 20~30 minutes to setup and pre-plan the settings and meter.
