Representations of the Buddha are a common part of Buddhist temples. These statues are know as Buddharūpa (literally, the form of the Awakened One). They appear in three different basic postures: standing, seating and lying.
Here you can see two variations of the seating position. Sri Lanka Buddharūpa's are slim and elegant with their cloths tight to their bodies.
