Day 252(253): Underneath Your Front Door

September 10, 2011

There's a note underneath your front door.

That I wrote twenty years ago.

Yellow paper and a faded picture.

And a secret in an envelope.

So, I finally got that roll of film developed. (Look at me... it's been like 5/6 days since I started it, and 1 or so days since I finished it and I'm already saying "finally".)

I'm angry. Oh so angry. Somehow the yahoos that run that photo center managed to screw up the chemicals or development or both (my personal assumption). My film came back completely blue. What. The. Heck.

So that's it. I'm going to develop my own film from now on. I'll be doing my B&Ws through the lab at school, of course. But I plan on going to the camera store tomorrow and buying myself some tools and talking to them about their suggestions for getting chemicals and all. Also, I will be asking my photography professor on Monday. No more. If my film is going to end up messed up - it'll be because I messed it up, not because someone is incompetent in their work. Sorry for the rant, but I just need to get it out.

I did as much as I could as of right now to make the photos work in Lightroom. Most of them had to be converted to B&W, Sepia, or something close to it.

You will probably see these shots from this roll again, because this is not how I wanted the results to be. So I will retry them.
