Smoke filled windows of the James Weir Building

University of Strathclyde, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, James Weir Building Fire

Watching the fire at the James Weir Building was surreal. The white tent was full of Christians having a loud musical event which was heard over the din of multiple sirens and alarms. Other students stood randomly and watched the fire develop: with students in later years visibly upset and students in earlier years showing only laughter and delight at what was happening. Some people need to grow up.

This image shows the smoke filled windows and the fire & police vehicles on Montrose St. The fire was at this point and smoke drifted from the building after a terrible noise when the windows smashed.
