Thank you, Hurricane Ida!
Well, I suppose it's been about a month since I've gone out shooting. My finances have finally caught up, as has my sleep schedule. All nighters are a shoe-in to go shoot something in the morning!
After I got off work this morning, I saw that there was a moderate haze occulting the moon and stars, and then thicker clouds started rolling in shortly thereafter. I looked at the satellite maps and realized these are the very far outer bands from Hurricane Ida!
Just when I'd given up on hurricane season, we finally get some fun weather at the very end! Tropical storms always make for great sunrises/sunsets.
So, this is downtown Jacksonville. I wanted to get a different view than I normally do. The last time I walked across this bridge must have been 4 or 5 years ago, and I knew I'd get a view to the east and be able to capture the colors of the sunrise. As I went outside to get in my car at 6:10, I realized there was already red in the sky, though sunrise wasn't supposed to be until 6:48... so I hauled butt downtown and basically ran up the bridge... got there *just* in time.
I'm sorry, Aaron, that this is still two-dimensional... still trying to figure out how to make my images 3d ;)
