A photo of the palazzo courtyard. It had a pool of water in the centre with reeds growing in it, with benches and potted orange around the perimeter. I thought it might be a nice place to rest, but unfortunately it started pouring soon after we entered the museum and continued to rain until we left.
You can see the central hall with the statue of Augustus and the altar through the ground-floor windows. (In Italy, the first floor is not the same as the ground floor!)
And that was pretty much our first day in Rome.
